Fermi is the unit of length. It was used long ago about four decades ago.

In the SI units of length is femtometer =  fm = 10⁻¹⁵ meter.
femtometer is equal to the length of  1 Fermi = 10⁻¹⁵ meter.

Fermi could be the lowest possible dimension that physicists and chemistry scientists could deal with. It is less than the atomic distances.

Fermi was a scientist from Italy. The unit was named after him at that time.
But now the name is femtometer and the symbol is fm.
