Fertilization is possible if copulation has taken place during menstrual cycle. Give reason?

Yes ,Fertilization may take place but it depends on which day copulation took place during menstrual cycle because the ovulation takes place during this period.But if copulation is done in starting 7 days of the cycle or lasting 7 days of the cycle then it may called to be free sex because in that period there is very less chance to fuse.
