★Its orbit is called parking orbit and its orbital velocity is 3.1 km/s

1) Geostationary satellite are Positioned act an Exact height of 36000km above the Earth.

2) At this height they rotate around the earth at the same speed as the earth rotates around its axis, hence appear stationary above a point on the earth (normally directly overhead the equator).

3) The Term Geostationary Come From the Fact that such a satellite appears nearly stationery in the Sky as seen by a Ground- based Observer....
