Figure below shows two crops fields(Plot A and Plot B) have been treated by manures and chemical fertilizers respectively. Keeping other environmental factors same. observe the graph and answer the questions.
(1) Why does the plotB show sudden increases and gradually decrease in yield.
(2) Why is the highest peak in a plot A graph slightly delayed?
(3) What is the reason for the different pattern of the two graphs

The organic matters that are used as fertilizers for the crops are called manures.

Explanation:

I)

The plot B is for chemical fertilizers. The uses of it quickly increase the yield of the crops but they decrease the pH of the soil and the organic matter present it. It also causes hardening of soil. For the longer run, it causes low soil productivity, thus the graph gradually decreases.

II)

Manures are organic matters. The action of the manure is slower than chemical fetilizers that have ready to use nutrient for crops.

III)

There is a difference in the graph because manure does harm the productivity of the soil. It may be a slower process because it is organic matter, but it does not affect the soil as chemical fertilizers do.
