Figure depicts a racing track whose left and right ends are semi-circular. The distance between the two inner parallel line segments is 60 m and they are each 106 m long. If the track is 10 m wide everywhere, find the area of the track.

Answer:  4320 m²

Step-by-step explanation:

Distance of inner track = 2πr + length + length

                                       = 2π(30) + 106 + 106

                                       = 400.57 m

Area of inner track = πr² + (length x breadth )

                                =  π(30)² + (106 x 60)

                                = 9188.57 m²

Area of whole track = πr² + (length x breadth)

                                = π(40)² + (106 x 80) = 13508.57 m²

(radius = 30+10 =40 , width = 60 +10+10 = 80)

Area of track = 13508.57 - 9188.57 = 4320 m²
