Given :

Graph showing the variation of the electric field  intensity E versus distance x .

To find :

The magnitude  potential difference between the point at x = 0 to x  = 6 m .

Solution :

The area under E - x graph gives the potential difference .

Area at ( x = 0 ) is 0 . So , potential at ( x = 0 ) is 0 .

Area at ( x = 6 ) =  2 * ( 1 / 2 ) * 3 * 10

                          = 3 * 10 = 30

Potential at ( x= 6 ) = 30 V

Potential difference between the point at ( x = 0 ) to ( x  = 6 )  = 30 V - 0 V

                                                                                                     = 30 V

The magnitude  potential difference between the point at x = 0 to x  = 6 m is 30 V .
