Given :   x = 2, y = −1 is a solution of linear equation

To Find : linear equation

1️⃣ x + 2y = 0

2️⃣ x + 2y = 4

3️⃣ 2x + y = 0

4️⃣ 2x + y = 5

Solution:

x + 2y = 0

Substitute x = 2, y = −1

=> 2 + 2(-1) = 0

=> 2 - 2 = 0

=> 0 = 0

Hence  x = 2, y = −1 is a solution of linear equation x + 2y = 0

x + 2y =4

Substitute x = 2, y = −1

=> 2 + 2(-1) = 4

=> 2 - 2 = 4

=> 0 = 4

but 0 ≠ 4

Hence  x = 2, y = −1 is not a solution of linear equation x + 2y = 4

2x +  y =0

Substitute x = 2, y = −1

=> 2(2)   -1  = 0

=> 4 - 1 = 0

=> 3 = 0

but 3≠ 0

Hence  x = 2, y = −1 is not a solution of linear equation 2x + y = 0

2x +  y =5

Substitute x = 2, y = −1

=> 2(2)   -1  = 5

=> 4 - 1 = 5

=> 3 = 5

but 3≠ 5

Hence  x = 2, y = −1 is not a solution of linear equation 2x + y = 5
