1) If AB=BC=4 cm and b is right angled,

So either AB is perpendicular or BC,

If you take AB as base,then Bc would be perpendicular and vice versa,

Applying formula for area of triangle,

(1/2) *base*perpendicular,

It is (1/2)*4*4=8cm^2

Hope u understood, feel free to ask if u have doubts.

2) The area of an equilateral triangle of side a = [(a^2)/2]sin 60 or

4*3^0.5 = [(a^2)/2]*3^0.5/2, or

2*2*4*3^0.5 = a^2 *3^0.5 or

a = 4 cm.

Hence the side of the equilateral triangle = 4 cm.
