there are no rational numbers between 0.4 and 0.5.

first of all make a denominator. such as 1

there are no rational number so you have to multiply with 10

0.4 / 1 =0.4 × 10 / 1 × 10 = 0.40 / 10

(one is the denominator of the number)

0.5 / 1 = 0.5 x 10/ 1 x 10 = 0.50 / 10

(one is the denominator of the number)

still there are only 9 rational numbers......

so again multiply denominator and numerator with 100

( but remember don't write 0.40 / 10 . because its previous number and we are not able to find 11 rational numbers so don't write it. if you will write it the will answer becomes wrong.)

0.4 / 1 = 0.4 × 100/1 x 100 = 0.400/100

( but remember don't write 0.50 / 10 because its previous number and we are not able to find 11 rational numbers so don't write it. if you will write it the will answer becomes wrong.)

0.5 / 1 = 0.5 x 100 / 1 × 100 = 0.500/100

so now there are 99 rational numbers between 0.400/100 and 0.500 / 100

0.401/100, 0.402/100, 0.403/100....... like this write any 11 rational numbers......
