The given function is
f(x — 2)=2x²+3x — 5
Put x — 2 = z
Then x= z +2
This gives
f(z)= 2(z +2)²+3(z +2) — 5
f(z)=2(z²+4z +4)+3z +6 — 5
f(z)=2z² + 8z + 8 + 3z + 1
f(z)=2z² + 11z + 9
If we change the variable to x we get
f(x)=2x² + 11x + 9

Given:
- f(x — 2)=2x²+3x — 5
To find:
- Put x — 2 = z
Prove
- Then x= z +2
This gives
- f(z)= 2(z +2)²+3(z +2) — 5
- xf(z)=2(z²+4z +4)+3z +6 — 5
- f(z)=2z² + 8z + 8 + 3z + 1
- f(z)=2z² + 11z + 9
If we change the variable to x we get
- f(x)=2x² + 11x + 9
Hope it helps
