To find rational numbers, we will make the denominators same by taking out the LCM.
3/5=24/40
7/8=35/40
then multiply by 4
24/40*4/4 and 35/40*4/4
96/160 and 140/160
three rational numbers=97/160,98/160,99/160
Hope this helps you..!!

kvnmurty: perhaps it is not needed to multiply with 4 .. between 24/40 and 35/40 ... we have 25/40 , 26/40, 27/40, 28/40, 29/40. 30/40.... .like there there are 15 rational numbers....
Anonymous: yes sir, that's right too...
XxMaverickxX: well explained!!! thanks sir and riya and just as an extra point we can have infinite rational numbers between two given rational number and once again thanks :-)
