5 rational nu.'s between 1/2 and 2/3:

ans. first make denominators same by lcm
1/2 = 1×3/2×3 = 3/6
2/3= 2×2/3×2 = 4/6

according to my trick add one 0 to both fractions,
1/2=3/6=30/60
2/3=4/6=40/60

5 rational nu.'s between 1/2 and 2/3:
31/60,32/60,33/60,34/60,35/60.
thanks for such a nice question

Given:

Two fractions 1/2 and 2/3.

To find:

Five rational numbers between the given two fractions.

Solution:

To answer this question, first of all, we should know that a number is said to be a rational number if it can be written in the form of p/q.

Now,

as given

we have two fractions 1/2 and 2/3.

First of all, we will make the denominators of given fractions the the the the same.

So,

On multiplying 3 and 2 in both numerator and denominator of 1/2 and 2/3 respectively, we get

 =  \frac{3}{6 } and \:  \frac{4}{6}

Now, to find 'n' rational numbers between two numbers, we will multiply n + 1 in both the numerator and denominator of the given two numbers.

So,

five rational numbers between 3/6 and 4/6 are

 \frac{3  \times 6}{6 \times 6}  \: and \:  \frac{4 \times 6}{6 \times 6}

=  \frac{18}{ 36}  \: and \:  \frac{24}{36}

Hence, five rational numbers between 1/2 and 2/3 are 19/36, 20/36, 21/36, 22/36 and 23/36.
