If a,7,b,23 are in A.P. Then,

T2-T1 = T3-T2

7 - a= 23-b

b - a = 16 - - - (i)

T3 - T2 = T4 - T3

b - 7 = 23 - b

2b = 30

b = 15

In (i), b - a = 16

15 - a = 16

- a = 1

a = - 1
