Find a number which when added to its half gives 42.

let no's.be x or1/2x
x+1/2x=42
3/2x=42
x=42*2/3
x =14*2
x=28

let the number be a
ATQ , a + (a/2) = 42
2a +a = 84
3a= 84
a= 28
Hence 28 is the answer. .
