k{ x² - (sum of zeroes)x + (product of zeroes) } = 0

Substituting the values, we get:

=> k { x² - (1/4)x + (-1) } = 0

=> k { x² - (1/4)x - 1 } = 0

=> k { 4x² - x - 4 } = 0

.°. the quadratic equation is 4x² - x - 4, with k = 4.
