Given,

sum \: of \: roots \: ( \alpha  +  \beta ) = 5 \\  \\ product \: of \: roots \: ( \alpha  \beta ) =  - 2

Equation of polynomial =

 {x}^{2}  - ( \alpha  +  \beta )x + ( \alpha  \beta )  \\  \\  =  {x}^{2}  - 5x - 2
