Answer:

Given:

  • zeroes of the polynomial  are 3 and -1

To find:

  •  The quadratic equation

Solving Question:

We are given the zeros of the polynomial and have to find the polynomial with the given zeros .We can find the answer using these formula

If α and β are the zeros

  • α +β =-b/a
  • α * β =c/a

Solution:

 α +β =-b/a

3+ (-1)

or, 3-1

or, 2

or, α +β =-b/a = 2

⇒ a = 1 ; b = -2

α * β =c/a

3*(-1)

or, -3

or, α * β =c/a = -3

c = -3

Standard form of a quadratic equation = ax² + bx +c = 0

∴ k( x² - 2x -3 = 0 ) , where 'k' is a constant.
