Answer:

method one :

3/1 and 4/1

  1. multiply denominators without any number but the denominator should be equal for both the numbers
  2. I am multiplying with 12 and only we can get the denominator 12 as in both the cases
  3. 3/1 × 12/12 = 36/12
  4. 4/1 × 12/12 = 48/12
  5. there are many rational number between 36/12 and 48/ 12 .
  6. some are 37 /12 , 39/12 , 40/12 .....

method 2 :

  1. it's like mean method
  2. we have to add the numbers and divide it by 2
  3. 3+4/2 = 7/2
  4. 72 is a number between 3 and 4

thank you

hope it helps please

Step 1: Find the LCM of the denominators. But here the denominators are already equal so we don't need to do this step.

Step 2: Multiply the denominator and numerator by any number. Here I will multiply them by 10. You can multiply with any number you like.

\frac{3\times10 }{1\times10 } =\frac{30}{10}\\\\\frac{4\times10 }{1\times10} =\frac{40}{10}

Step 3: List the rational numbers between the two.

∴ The rational numbers between 3 and 4 are -

\frac{31}{10},\frac{32}{10}  ,\frac{33}{10},\frac{34}{10},\frac{35}{10},\frac{36}{10},\frac{37}{10},\frac{38}{10}\ and \ \frac{39}{10}

Fun Fact about Irrational Number.

π (Pi) is a famous irrational number.

π = 3.1415926535897932384626433832795...

People believe that (Pi) is equal to  22/7 = 3.1428571428571 which is close but not accurate.

∴ π (Pi) is considered as an irrational number.
