Find a rational number between : (i)1.3 and 1.4 (ii)0.75 and 1.2

Preetsahu: how many rational number we have to find
sofianeha2002: 4 numbers
Preetsahu: ok
Preetsahu: so I multiple it with 6 you multiple it with 5
Preetsahu: so you get four number

One rational number lying between a and b is (a + b)/2.

1. One rational number lying between 1.4 and 1.3 = (1.4 + 1.3)/2 = 2.7/2 = 27/20 = 1.35.

Hence, 1.35 is a rational number lying between 1.4 and 1.3.

2. One rational number lying between 0.75 and 1.2 = (0.75 + 1.2) / 2 = 1.95/2 = 195/200 = 0.975

Hence 0.975 is the rational number lying between 1.2 and 0.75

hruthik2222: actually according to the formula only 1.35 will come between 1.3 & 1.4
sofianeha2002: Ok but aren't mine correct
hruthik2222: Sry I dint get u
sofianeha2002: What I got is wrong or correct
hruthik2222: which values u got
sofianeha2002: 1.32,1.34,1.36 and 1.38
hruthik2222: I think u got wrong Coz there is nly one rational number between those valuea
hruthik2222: values*
sofianeha2002: But the question is 4 no.
hruthik2222: which formula u applied for tht

1.3=13/10
1.4=14/10
13/10*6=78/10
14/10*6= 84/10
so no are 79/10,80/10,81/10,82/10,83/10
o.75=75/100
1.2 =12/10
75/100*6=45/10
12/10*6=72/10
so number are 46/10,47/10,48/10................til 71/10
