MP = 100
1st discount = 20% of 100 = 20
Since, 100 - 20 = 80
2nd discount = 12% of 80 = 15
Therefore,SP = 80 - 15 = 65
Single equivalent discount = MP - SP
= 100 - 65
= 35
Since,the discount of 36 is on 100
Hence, required single discount = 35%.
1st discount = 20% of 100 = 20
