Let the original price be ₹x

20% discount means 20x/100 is reduced.

20x/100 = x/5

New amount = x - x/5 = 4x/5

Now 10% discount on new amount.

4x/5 - 4x/5 × 10/100

= 4x/5 - x/25

= 19x/25

Again 5/2% discount make the price

19x/25 - 19x/25×5/200

=19x/25 - 19x/1000

= 741x/1000

♦ The single discount = (x - 741x/1000)/x × 100
=259x/1000x × 100

=259/10 = 25.9%
