Given : ΔABC \sim∼ Δ PQR , AB/PQ = BC/QR = AC/PR = k

To find : Value of k from given options :

1) k = 1 , 2) k > 1 , 3) k < 0 , 4) k = 0

Solution:

ΔABC \sim∼ Δ PQR

k is the ratio of length of sides of triangles

hence k can not be ≤ 0

Hence

option 3 ) k < 0 and option 4) k = 0

is not possible

k = 1

when triangle are congruent ≅

but triangle are similar only

hence option 1 ) k = 1 is also not possible

Hence k > 1 or k < 1

but in given options k > 1

Hence option 2 ) k > 1 is correct
