Find all possible values of y for which the four digit number 64y3 is divided by 9

We know divisiblity rule of  ' 9 ' , If sum of all digits of a number is divisible by 9 then the number is also divisible by 9

As given : Four digit number 64y3 is divisible by 9 , So

6 + 4 + y  +  3 =  ( 13 + y ) must be divisible by 9

We know numbers divisible by  9   =  9 , 18 , 27 , 36 , . . .

Here we can see that " 13 + y "  is near to " 18 "  , So equate them and get :

13 + y  = 18 ,

y  = 5

So, our required four digit number that is divisible by 9 =  6453                                ( Ans )
