if we take as 2
p(2) = 0
it means that x-2 is a factor of p(x)
divide p(x) by x-2
(as above)

x^3 -4x can be written as
(x-2)(x^2+2x)
(x-2)×x(x+2)
(x-2)(x+0)(x+2)

zeroes are
x-2=0
x= 2
,
(x+0)=0
x=0
and
(x+2)=0
x= -2

hope this will help you
