Find an expression for the weight of a body at the centre of the earth.

The value of acceleration due to gravity at a depth "d" below the surface of earth is:
ga=g(1-d/R)

At the centre of earth ,d=R

Hence
gc=g(1-R/R)
=g(1-1)
=gx0
=0

Therefore weight of the body at the centre of earth is zero which means that at the centre of earth a body will be weightless.
