Its all because of inter particle space the interparticle space is highest gases》liquid》solid as because of interparticle space the most in gases the compressiblity of them isthe highest.as compared to water and solid and u wanna say u a fact that neither solid nor liquid can be compressed but it is felt that water is compressible

it is because solid has less intermolecular space between them as compared to liquid.
And in other hand liquid have less intermolecular space between them as compared to gases.
so the more intermolecular space, the more compressiblity
