Ans:- A dune is a landform composed of wind- or water-driven sand. It typically takes the form of a mound, ridge, or hill.An area with dunes is called a dune system or a dune complex. A large dune complex is called a dune field.

Characteristics:-

A dune is a mound of sand formed by the wind, usually along the beach or in a desert. Dunes form when wind blows sand into a sheltered area behind an obstacle. Dunes grow as grains of sand accumulate. Every dune has a windward side and a slipface.

Dune fields are about 9km in size, while broader-scale features are the underlying shelf platform, terrace, and slope features at 40km in size across the full width of the survey area.
