Find three rational numbers between  -5/6 and 5/8.

SOLUTION :-

First we need to make the denominator same...

So,  -5/6 = (-5 × 8) /(6 × 8) = -40/48

        5/8 = (5 × 6) /(8 × 6) = 30/48

∴  -40/48 and 30/48

We know that,

        -30/48  < -25/48 < -20/48 < -15/48 < -10/48 < ...... < 20/48  < 25/48

Hence, 3 rational numbers between -5/6 = -40/48 and 5/8 = 30/48 are :

          -20/48 = -5/12 ,

           -10/48 = -5/24

                 and

           20/48 =  5/12 .

⇒ -5/12 , -5/24 and 5/12
