the perpendicular drawn from vertice opposite to the base cut the base equally.so the 1/2 of the base will=3 cm
according to Pythagoras theorem,
perpendicular^2=(5^2-3^2)cm
=4cm
the area will be=( 1/2×4×5)cm^2
=10cm^2

Milap29: its wrong .. answer will be 12
Debdipta: sorry the base=6
Debdipta: sorry
Debdipta: the answer will 12
Milap29: hmm

12 cm^2 as area= 1/2*6*4 where 4 is length of altitude
