find area of shaded region. here abcd is rectangle=20cm bc=7cm and AED and BFC are semicircles

here is your full concept ..

according to the figure,

let us calculate the area of rectangle first = length ×breadth
= 20 ×7 = 140 cm square ..

now we are given two semicircles ,, let us find one semicircle area

according to your figure 7 cm is the diameter of the semicircle (I can't explain you in typing that diameter = 7cm )

so,, radius = 7÷2 =3.5 cm
now, area of one semicircle = pie×r × square ÷2
= 3.14 ×3.5 ×3.5÷2
= 19.23 cm square

now their are two semicircles given in question
so area of both the semicircles = 19.23× 2 =38.46cm square

now whole figure area = 140 +38.46= 178.46 cm square .

theirfore the required area of the whole figure = 178.46 cm square
