Mean = Sum of all observation / No. Of observation

= (3+0-1+7+11) / 5

= (21 - 1) /5

= 20 / 5

= 4

The arithmetic mean of the numbers 3, 0, -1, 7, 11 is 4.

Given:

The numbers 3,0,-1,7, and 11.

To Find:

Arithmetic mean of the given numbers.

Solution:

We have been given five numbers, 3,0,-1,7, and 11.

We need to find its arithmetic mean.

We know that

Arithmetic mean of 'n' terms = Sum of 'n' terms / n

Here number of terms, n=5

Sum of 3,0,-1,7, and 11 = 3+0+(-1)+7+11 = 20

⇒Arithmetic mean of 3,0,-1,7, and 11 = (Sum of 3,0,-1,7, and 11 )/ 5

= 20/ 5 =4.

∴ The arithmetic mean of the numbers 3, 0, -1, 7, 11 is 4.
