Given - Number of innings

Find - Value of x

Solution - Average = sum of scores/number of innings

Sum of scores in 14 innings = 14*x

Sum of scores in 14 innings = 14x

Average of 15 innings = x + 4

Sum of scores in 15 innings = 14x + 120

Keep the values in formula to find the value of x

x+4 =  \frac{14x + 120}{15}

Shifting 15 to Left Hand Side and performing multiplication

15 (x + 4) = 14x + 120

15x  + 60 = 14x + 120

Shifting values on both sides of the equation

15x - 14x = 120 - 60

x = 60

Hence, the value of x is 60.
