Correct Question

Find BC , If area of a ∆ABC is 36cm² and height AD is 3cm.

Answer:-

To Find:-

  • The base ( b ) of the triangle.

Given:-

  • Area of the triangle = 36cm²
  • Height ( h ) = 3cm

Solution:-

We know that

Area of a triangle = 1/2 × base × height

BC is the base ( b ) .... ( ? )

AD is the height = 3cm

Area of ∆ABC = 36 cm²

According the question,

 \sf{ \longrightarrow { \dfrac{1}{2} \times b \times h}} = Area

 \sf{ \longrightarrow { \dfrac{1}{2} \times BC \times 3}} = 36 {cm}^{2}

 \sf{ \longrightarrow BC \times  \dfrac{3}{2}  = 36}

\sf{ \longrightarrow BC = 36 \times  \dfrac{2}{3}}

( dividing 36 with 3 )

\sf{ \longrightarrow BC = 12 \times 2}

\sf{ \longrightarrow BC = 24cm}

  \sf{Now, Verification}

 \sf{36 =  \dfrac{1}{2} \times 24 \times 3}

 \sf{36 =  12 \times 3}

 \sf{36 = 36}

L.H.S = R.H.S

Hence, Proved

Required Answer:-

  • BC = 24cm
