Answer:

Easy!

Let the points P(–1,4) = x₁y₁ ; Q(5,–2) = x₂y₂. So,

x₁= -1, x₂=5, y₁=4, y₂= -2.

Use the midpoint formula, i.e.,

(x_{m} y_{m})=(\frac{x_{1}+x_{2}  }{2} ; \frac{y_{1}+y_{2}}{2});

Substitute the values -

(x_{m} y_{m})=(\frac{-1+5 }{2} ; \frac{4+(-2)}{2})

(x_{m} y_{m})=(\frac{4 }{2} ; \frac{2}{2})

(x_{m} y_{m})=(2,1)

Let us graph the line (NOT COMPULSORY)

I used GeoGebra graphing calculator to graph the line and fins the midpoint. You can clearly see that C(2,1) is the midpoint.

HOPE THIS HELPS :D
