By pythogaras therom, AD = √3 a

and ∠BAC = 60° and ∠BAD = 30°.

So In Δ ABD,

Let ∠BAD be Ф

So cosec Ф = hypotenuse / height = 2 a/ a

cosec 30° = 2

In Δ ABD ,

Ф = ∠ ABD

COS Ф = base / hypotenuse.

cos 60° = BD / AB

=  a / 2 a

cos 60° = 1/2
