Answer:

diagonal \: of \: the \: rectangle =  \sqrt{ {(35)}^{2} +  {(12)}^{2}  }  \\  =  \sqrt{1225 + 144}  \\  =  \sqrt{1369}  = 37

Length = 35cm

Breadth = 12cm

Each \: angle  =  {90}^{0}

Hence , We got a right angled triangle .

In this triangle∆,

By Pythagoras Theorem ,

\implies  {diagonal}^{2}  =  {length}^{2}    +  {breadth}^{2}

\implies  {d}^{2}  =  {35}^{2}   +   {12}^{2}

\implies  {d}^{2}  = 1225  + 144

 \implies {d}^{2}  = 1369

\implies d =  \sqrt{1369}

\implies d =  \sqrt{37 \times 37}

\implies d = 37 \: cm

Therefore , 37 cm is the diagonal of this triangle
