Solution: We have use Kirchoff's rules 1st & 2nd.

We have use Kirchoff's rules 1st & 2nd.In wire mesh (loop) AFEDA, we have,

→ +12 V - I₂ × 4Ω - (I₁ + I₂) × 3Ω = 0

→ 12 - 7 I₂ -3 I₁ = 0

→ 7 I₂ + 3 I₁ = 12 ....... (1)

In wire mesh (loop) ABCDA, we have,

→ +12 V - 5 V - I₁ × 2Ω - (I₁ + I₂) × 3Ω = 0

→ 7 - 5I₁ -3I₂ = 0

→ 3 I₂ + 5I₁ = 7 ....... (2)

Multiplying eq.(1) by 3, we get,

→ 21 I₂ + 9 I₁ = 36.....(3)

And multiplying eq.(2) by 7, we get,

→ 21 I₂ + 35 I₁ = 49.....(4)

Now substracting eq.(3) from eq.(4), we get,

→ 26 I₁ = 13

→ I₁ = 13/26= 0.5

Now substituting value of I₂ in eq.(2), we get value of I₁,

→ 3 I₂ + 5 × 0.5 = 7

→ 3 I₂ = 7 - 2.5

→ I₂ = 4.5/3 = 1.5

Therefore, I₁ + I₂ = 2
