Solution :-

As per the given question ,

  • R 1 = 4 Ω
  • R 2 = 8 Ω
  • R 3 = 8 Ω
  • V = 8 V

Resistors R 2 and R 3 each having a resistance of 8 Ω are connected in parallel with each other

Equivalent resistance for two resistors connected in parallel is given by the formula ,

➽ 1 / Rp = 1 / R 2 + 1 / R 3

➽ 1 / Rp = 1 / 8 + 1 / 8

➽ 1 / Rp = 2 / 8

➽ 1 / Rp = 1 / 4

➽ Rp = 4 Ω

Now R p and R 1 are connected in series with each other

Equivalent resistance for two resistors connected in series is given by the formula ,

➽ Rs = R 1 + R p

➽ Rs = 4 + 4

➽ R s = 8 Ω

The equivalent resistance of the circuit is 8 Ω

Current flowing through the circuit

By using ohm's law ,

➽ I = V / R

➽ I = 8 / 8

➽ I = 1 A

Hence reading of ammeter A 1 and A 2 = 1 A
