Steps to find rational numbers between two rational numbers.

Step 1Since here the rational number is not in  \frac{p}{q} we will make the numbers in

So (-7) = \frac{-7}{1}

And (-8) = \frac{-8}{1}

Step 2 ⇒ Now since we want five rational numbers between the two numbers we will multiply any number to the denominator and numerator. So here I am multiplying 6, you can also multiply any large number like 10, 100, etc.

\frac{-7*6}{1*6} and \frac{-6*6}{1*6}

So the rational numbers between \frac{-42}{6} and \frac{-36}{6} are ⇒ \frac{-37}{6},\frac{-38}{6}  , \frac{-39}{6} , \frac{-40}{6} , \frac{-41}{6}.
