Answer:

L.C.M( Least common multiple) of 24,36 and 60

is 2 × 2 × 2 × 3 × 5= 360

Now, the H.C.F ( Highest common factor) 24 = 2 × 2 × 2 × 3

36 = 2 × 2 × 3 × 3

40 = 2 × 2 × 2 × 5

H.C.F of 24, 36 and 60 is 4.

Concept: The largest positive integer that divides two or more positive integers without leaving a residual is known as the greatest common divisor, or gcd, according to the laws of mathematics.

The LCM, or least common multiple, of two numbers, such as a and b, is used in mathematics (a,b). The smallest or least positive integer that may be divided by both a and b is the LCM.

Given: numbers 24, 36 and 60

To find: HCF and LCM of 24, 36, 60 using prime factorization method

Solution: The HCF and LCM of 24, 36, 60 using prime factorization method is as follows:

24 = 2 × 2 × 2 × 3

36 = 2 × 2 × 3 × 3

60 = 2 × 2 × 3 × 5

Hence, HCF of 24, 36, 60 is 2 × 2 × 3 = 12

and LCM of 24, 36, 60 is 2 × 2 × 2 × 3 × 3 × 5 = 360

Hence. HCF = 12 and LCM = 360
