  √3      =        √3 (2√3 - 3)        =     6 - 3√3      = 2 - √3

2√3 + 3         (2√3 + 3) (2√3 - 3)          12 - 9

x = 2

y = -1

annamsen: From 2 - sqrt(3) = x + y sqrt(3) one can infer the answer as x = 2 and
annamsen: y = -1. However, this is also a condition of 1 equation with 2 unknowns. Is there another trick to solving this?
annamsen: perhaps by graphing?
littyissacpe8b60: it is correct
littyissacpe8b60: we got an answer 2 - √3 ie 2 + (-√3) = In question it is given x + y√3 Here y√3 = 1√3 so other number is x of course.
littyissacpe8b60: y = -1 and x = 2
annamsen: Thank you!
