Solution :

Here, it is given that base of the triangle and height of the triangle are in ratio 3 : 2 and their area is 108cm².

Let

  • Base of the triangle = 3x
  • Height of the triangle = 2x

As we know that

Area of a triangle = ½ × b × h

Where

  • b = base of the triangle
  • h = height of the triangle

Now, according to question :

➠ Area of the triangle = ½ × 3x × 2x

➠ 108 = ½ × 3x × 2x

➠ 108 = ½ × 6x²

➠ 108 = 3x²

➠ 108/3 = x²

➠ x² = 36

➠ x = √36

➠ x = 6cm

Put the value of x in the ratio

  • base of the triangle = 3x = 3(6) => 18cm
  • height of the triangle = 2x = 2(6) => 12cm
