The value of K = 2

Given :

f(K) = 2K - 1 and fof(K) = 5

To find :

The value of K

Solution :

Step 1 of 2 :

Write down the given function

Here the given function is f(K) = 2K - 1

Step 2 of 2 :

Find the value of K

fof(K) = 5

⇒ f(f(K)) = 5

⇒ f(2K - 1) = 5

⇒ 2(2K - 1) - 1 = 5

⇒ 4K - 2 - 1 = 5

⇒ 4K - 3 = 5

⇒ 4K = 5 + 3

⇒ 4K = 8

⇒ K = 2

Hence the required value of K = 2
