Let one root be a,

Then other root is 6a

we have given that

kx^2-14x+8=0

sum of zero=-(cofficient of x)/cofficient of x^2

a+6a = 14/k

7a = 14/k

a = 2/k

hence one zero is 2/k and other is 12/k

product of zero=cofficient of constant/cofficient of x^2

2/k×12/k = 8/k

24/k^2 = 8/k

k = 24/8

= 3

hence value of k is 3
