Given: A prism with particular dimensions

To find: The lateral surface area and total surface area.

Solution:

  • Now we have given the triangular prism with basas right triangle with dimensions 8m , 9m and 12.04m .
  • So the area of two triangles will be:

                area of two triangles = 2 (1/2 x b x h ) = b x h

                area of two triangles = 9 x 8 = 72 m^2

  • Now the lateral surface area will be:

                lateral surface area = (l1 x b1)+(l2 x b2)+(l3 x b3)

                lateral surface area =  ( 23 x 12.04)+(23 x 9)+(8 x 23)

                lateral surface area = 276.92 + 207 + 184

                lateral surface area = 667.92 m^2

  • Now the total surface area will be:

Total surface area = lateral surface area + area of two triangles

                Total surface area = 667.92 m^2 + 72 m^2

                Total surface area = 739.92 m^2

Answer

So the area approx is lateral surface area is 668 m^2 and total surface area is 740 m^2.
