\sf\large\underline\blue{Given:-}

• Compound = Water

\sf\large\underline\blue{To\: Find :-}

• Mass percent of hydrogen in water.

\sf\large\underline\blue{Formula\: used:-}

\pink{\bigstar \ \boxed{\rm \%=\dfrac{m}{M} \ \times 100 \%}}

Where,

• % = Mass percentage of element

• m = Molar mass of element

• M = Molar mass of compound

\sf\large\underline\blue{Solution:-}

Given that,

Compound = Water

We know that, molar mass of hydrogen is = 1

Now, calculate the molar mass of water.

Molar mass of water

= 1 × 2 + 16

= 18

Hence, M = 18

Substituting the values, we get

\blue{\rm \implies Hydrogen \ \%=\dfrac{2}{18} \times 100 \%}

\blue{\rm \implies Hydrogen \ \%=0.1111\times 100 \%}

\blue{\rm \implies Hydrogen \ \%= 11.11 \%}

\small{\underline{\sf{\blue{Hence-}}}}

\green{\rm Mass  \ \% \ of \ Hydrogen = 11.11\%}

Remember that,

\green{\rm Mass  \ \% \ of \ Oxygen  = 88.89\%}
