Step-by-step explanation:

let

p(x)=x^3+x-4x^2+6 &g(x)=(x+2)

now putting g(x)=0

x+2=0

x=-2

p(-2)=(-2)^3+(-2)-4(-2)^2+6

=-8-2-4(4)+6

=-8-2-16+6=-20

so by factor theorem g(x) is not a factor of p(x)
