As the first term of A.P. is 5 and common difference=8-5=3. nth term of an A.P. having first term a and common difference of d is a+(n-1)d . So nth term of an A.P. is given as 68= 5+(n-1)3=> 68-5 = (n-1)3 => 63/3 =(n-1)=> n=21+1=22. 22 is the value of n and hope it helps you...
