Hi,

If a and b are two positive rational

numbers such that ab is not a perfect

square of a rational number , then

√( ab ) is an irrational number lying

between a and b.

An irrational number between a = 0.5

and b = 0.55 is √ ( 0.5 × 0.55 )

= √( 0.5 ) ( 0.5 )(1.1)

= ( 0.5 )√( 1.1)

I hope this helps you.
