Space junks are the manmade objects that are orbiting around the earth. They cause damage to the functional satellite through collision.  

Explanation:

The space objects like satellites and launch vehicles, which are sent by humans, become useless once their lifetime or their mission gets ended in the space.  These objects may orbit around the earth or may also fall back to earth. If they fall back to earth, they either land or burn up in the atmosphere.

But if they don’t fall back, they orbit around the earth at greater speeds up to 17,500 mph. Travelling at such velocity, they possess the threat of colliding and causing serious damage to the functional satellites in the space. Russia, USA and China are top three countries in the number of space junks produced.
